This "Users' Handbook on Human Resources Development Indicators, 2003" is the seventh Handbook among the series of its kind since 1997. As we have pointed out before, this is just a handbook, not a year book and we take care that the indicators here are the choicest from many of the indicators. At the same time, the Department of Labour takes great care to improve not only the quantity of this Handbook but also the quality as well.

This publication of handbook on Human Resources Development Indicators is the latest follow up of the project carried out jointly by Department of Labour of the Ministry of Labour and UNFPA since 1997. Since then we have made sure that each publication must surpass the previous publication qualitatively.

This Handbook on Human Resources Indicators can be said as the fifth milestone leaving four publications in its wake. Moreover the Users' Workshop was able to receive full cooperation from relevant government departments and other interested private agencies. We are proud of the fact that the workshop was very lively and the recommendations of the workshop would be translated into action as conditions permit.

The Population Monograph of Nepal 2014, an analytical report of the census 2011 presented in three volumes contains in-depth analysis of different topics related to the population of the country prepared by the eminent professionals dealing with such issues in their professional work. The first volume contains 12 chapters related to the population dynamics of Nepal, such as size and structure of the population, nuptiality, fertility, mortality, migration and population projections.

UNFPA GCC April-June 2016 highlights some important topics, including UNFPA recent activities in Oman and the region including UNFPA/WHO Joint Action Programme with MoH-Oman, and UNFPA GCC remarkable visit to the Girls House in Al-Buraimi governorate in Oman, in addition to our recent agreement of co-operation with the National Youth Commission in the country.
